We’ll admit our heartbeat went a-flutter when we saw a post declaring that George Takei was going to run for congress against the repugnant Rep David Nunes. Of course with the announcement appearing on April 1, we were skeptical.
But George has been such a firebrand that this little bit of carpetbagging seemed somewhat possible.
On Sunday Takei admitted that it was a gag, but he used the buzz to promote the candidacy of Jon Ossoff, who is running for Congress in a special election in Georgia later this month, with a shout to “Help him win at http://electjon.com ”
No, I’m not running for Congress. Happy 4/1!
